Girl Scouts come back to Franklin R&R

Updated: Nov 9

On Saturday, September 28, 2024 we had the pleasure of another day of learning with the local Girl Scouts when they returned for instruction on the safe handling and use of .22 caliber handguns.

Certified NRA Instructor Bob Rogers taught a very thorough safety class before the girls were introduced to their personal coaches to continue their day on the firing line. Certified NRA Instructor Tommy Mastroeni was the officer in charge of the live fire portion as Bob Rogers supervised the actions of the Girls Scouts and their coaches. FR&R Certified Range Safety Officers watched closely as the girls began practicing the techniques they had learned in the classroom. The session ended with everyone smiling so it was a good day!

The NRA and Friends of NRA supply the necessary ammo and equipment for this type program and FR&R supplies the facilities, coaches and instructors. This year we would like to give a special thanks to "Letting The Lead Fly" owner Matt Pokrywka for his generous donation of 2000 rounds of .22 ammo allowing us to continue these community service programs at no cost to the participants.

A sincere 'Thank You' to all FR&R club members, without you these programs would not be possible.
