I picked up an arched mainspring housing for my Kimber. Without even shooting it, it feels better in my hand. I kept the stock springs so I won't have to deal with anything going wrong. (Thanks for the tip Jerry.)
Even though I knew how many springs were in my 1911, I didn't really know (grok, for you who have read "Stranger in a Strange Land") how many there truly was. I guess looking on the floor and table for the ejector spring, and the firing pin spring and the mainspring and the ejector really drove it home. I launched these several times before I got it all back together. I look forward to the marksmanship class this coming Saturday and getting my groups in the middle of the target. Hopefully this modification helps. _________________ If it weren't for guns, we'd be British. |
