I have had a few primers improperly seat in the cartridge, some in an angle, some completely sideways. I read that I can put the cartridge in oil and that will keep the primer from going off.
My question is, how do you de-prime the cartridge so it can be used again without causing injury to myself or others? _________________ If it weren't for guns, we'd be British. |

Not a good idea. I have access to a number of experienced re-loaders and they all say that once the primer is incorrectly seated to just throw the cartridge away. I had this problem early on and had to adjust the reloader slightly. They all say that the two most dangerous things about reloading is "the primers and you". (While they all know me well enough that they could have just been referring to me personally, I don't think that was the message.) As cheap as reloading is I wouldn't risk your fingers, basement, house etc. over a few mis-loaded shells. _________________ Dayne Hill |

Thanks for the advice, I'll dispose of them and consider them to be lessons learned. _________________ If it weren't for guns, we'd be British. |
